2018 Holshouser Legislators Retreat

On March 19-20, 2018, The Hunt Institute convened North Carolina legislators in Pinehurst, North Carolina for its 14th annual Holshouser Legislators Retreat. Over thirty-five policymakers joined key state education leaders, national experts, and The Hunt Institute team to explore pressing issues in North Carolina P-20 education.

The Retreat agenda was developed in collaboration with legislative leadership including the 2018 event chair, Senator Michael Lee, North Carolina Senate District 9. Legislators engaged in conversations around postsecondary educational attainment, workforce development, high-quality teachers and school leaders, the importance of high-quality early childhood education, school finance reform, and instructional innovation.
