2019 Education Policy Retreat

On January 14-15, 2019, The Hunt Institute held its 16th convening of North Carolina legislators in Cary, North Carolina for its Education Policy Retreat. Over thirty-five policymakers joined key state education leaders, national experts, and The Hunt Institute team to explore pressing issues in North Carolina P-20 education.

The Retreat agenda was developed in collaboration with legislative leadership including 2019 event chair Representative Craig Horn (HD-68). Legislators engaged in conversations around the importance of high-quality early childhood education, standards and assessment, teacher preparation and compensation, school choice, and school funding.
