Enriqueta Bond
Dr. Enriqueta Bond retired as President of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, a private foundation whose mission is to advance the medical sciences through the support of research and education. Bond is a founding partner of QE Philanthropic Advisors and now consults with philanthropic and non-profit organizations on program development and governance. Previously, she served for nearly 20 years as staff officer and division director at the Institute of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She was also a professor at Chatham College in Pittsburgh and at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where she directed a regional genetics counseling program. Bond serves on numerous boards and advisory groups, such as the Scientific Advisory Committee on Stewardship for Research on Infectious Diseases of Poverty at WHO’s Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, the NIH Council of Councils, and the Hamner Institute for Health Sciences. The Wellesley College graduate has a master’s from the University of Virginia and a doctorate from Georgetown University.
