Gene Arnold
Former State Representative Gene Arnold served in the N.C. State House of Representatives from 1992 until 2002. While there, he was senior chairman of the Education Appropriations Committee and co-chair of the Finance Committee. Additionally, Arnold served on the state’s Lobbyist Reform Commission, which developed new standards for lobbyist reporting and ethical standards for legislators. He helped author the current ABC legislation, holding schools accountable for student performance. The UNC-Wilmington graduate is a retired executive of the Hardee’s Food Systems, an executive board member of the North Carolina Public School Forum, and a frequent guest panelist on NC SPIN, a television program highlighting statewide political issues.
