Mimi Clarke Corcoran

Mimi Corcoran is the director of the Special Fund for Poverty Alleviation at the Open Society Foundations. Previously, Corcoran was an independent management consultant advising clients on strategy, policy, compliance and operational structures domestically and internationally. A board member of various educational and youth-related institutions, Corcoran served as the executive director of Beginning with Children Foundation, Inc., focusing on education advocacy and reform in New York. She was also the director of special projects at the Open Society Institute, supporting the development of non-governmental organizations. Corcoran began her career as an executive in Chase Manhattan Bank’s International Trading and Treasury Operations and Systems. She holds a bachelor degree in English from Yale University and a master’s degree in public administration from New York University.
