Research Coordinator

As a vital member of the Hunt Institute’s Research and Evaluation Team, Ashley Perry conducts research, monitors grants, analyzes issues related to education, and writes policy briefs. Prior to joining the Institute in 2009, Ashley researched and monitored legislative issues relating to the arts, children and families, economic development, education, housing, and labor for the Office of Congressman Mike McIntyre in Washington, D.C. She also spent nearly two years researching findings and compiling the quarterly alumni update at the UNC School of Government where she received undergraduate degrees in political science and history and a master’s in public administration. A native of Franklin, N.C., Ashley spent three months as a policy and management analyst intern with the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with the North Carolina Museum of Art Contemporaries Society and The Women’s Center.
