2005 Lieutenant Governors Education Symposium

On September 21, 2005, lieutenant governors and their policy advisors from 26 states convened in Asheville, North Carolina for the James B. Hunt, Jr. Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy’s Lieutenant Governors Education Symposium (LGES). The purpose of this firstever Hunt Institute symposium for lieutenant governors was to provide these important leaders with an intensive and rich summary of the critical educational issues facing the nation’s public schools. This information was coupled with advice on a variety of political and policy strategies to address these issues.
