Georgia Afterschool Investment Council

Georgia Afterschool Investment Council

The Georgia Afterschool Investment Council (GAIC) is a statewide organization dedicated to ensuring Georgia's youth have access to high-quality, affordable afterschool and summer learning programs.

GAIC is part of a national network – funded in part through the support of the C.S. Mott Foundation – that includes 38 Statewide Afterschool Networks (SANs). SANs are vehicles for bringing together policymakers, educators, youth development workers, advocates, parents, business and community members, and other stakeholders interested in improving outcomes for children and youth through afterschool and summer learning programs. As the Georgia SAN, GAIC works in collaboration with local, state and national partners to ensure that afterschool and summer learning programs in Georgia provide rich learning experiences that are school-based or school-linked and produce positive participant outcomes aligned with education reform, 21st century workforce content and skills, and physical wellness initiatives.
