Director, Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows
David joined The Hunt Institute in June 2019 as the Director of the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows. In this role, he will oversee the implementation of the bipartisan fellowship program, which is designed to build the education policy and education reform capacity of senior political leaders.
Prior to joining the Institute, David served as the education analyst for the Florida Senate Majority Office where he developed policy and communication positions that helped drive the Senate Majority’s overall messaging. Previously, he served as the Policy Director for the Adam Putnam for Governor campaign, advising on all policy matters. He also served as the Senior Policy Advisor at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
David graduated from Boston College with a degree in Environmental Geoscience and received a master’s degree in Applied American Politics and Policy from Florida State University. Before transitioning into government and politics, David was an educator. He taught for two years in Memphis, TN as a Teach For America corps member and spent a year abroad teaching and volunteering in Thailand.
